Can Movers Pick Up Facebook Marketplace Purchases?

You found the deal. Here's how to actually get it home when it weighs 400 pounds.

The Gap Between Buying and Getting It Home

Marketplace, OfferUp and Craigslist listings almost never include delivery, and most sellers want the item gone quickly. A specialty moving company fills that gap: truck, crew, dollies, straps and the ability to get the item out of a garage or upstairs apartment without damaging anything.

What to Send When You Request a Pickup

The listing photos usually do most of the work.

  • Screenshots or the listing link
  • Pickup address or ZIP code and the seller's available window
  • Delivery address or ZIP code
  • Approximate dimensions and weight
  • Photos of stairs, doorways or tight access at both ends
  • Whether the item needs to come apart to get out

Common Problems and How to Avoid Them

The two biggest issues are inaccurate descriptions and unavailable sellers. Ask the seller for a photo of the item in place, not just a stock image, and confirm the pickup window before scheduling. Payment stays between you and the seller — movers transport, they don't broker the sale.

Items We See Most Often

Sectionals, treadmills, gun safes, refrigerators, arcade cabinets, toolboxes and pool tables. If it's heavy and awkward, it's likely something we pick up weekly. See our marketplace pickup and delivery service for details.
