How Much Does It Cost to Move a Safe in Orlando?
Weight is only the starting point. Here's what really decides what a safe move costs in Central Florida.
Weight Sets the Floor, Access Sets the Price
A 500-pound gun safe going from a garage to a garage on flat ground is a very different job than the same safe going up a turning staircase to a second-floor closet. Two crews, more equipment and more time change the number far more than the safe's weight alone. When you ask for a price over the phone without describing the route, any number you get is a guess.
The Five Factors That Move the Number
Every safe quote we write comes down to the same short list.
- Manufacturer weight and exterior dimensions
- Stairs — how many, how wide, and how tight the turns are
- Flooring type and whether protection or plywood pathing is needed
- Doorway widths, thresholds and elevator capacity
- Truck access, driveway grade and carry distance
What to Send for an Accurate Number
Photos of the safe, photos of every stair and doorway on the route at both ends, the make and model if you have it, and both addresses or ZIP codes. That's usually enough for a firm quote without a site visit. See our full breakdown of what we evaluate on the safe moving service page.
Before Moving Day
Empty the safe completely, including shelving and any firearms, and clear the path at both ends. Reducing weight and removing obstacles is the cheapest thing you can do to keep the job efficient.
